  1. Thanks for the memories. One of the first networks I supported was a similar hodgepodge. Phonenet, plus Ethernet, plus other oddities (like Arcnet) in different parts of what as a college campus with an attached textbook publishing business and print shop.

    At least the Ethernet part of the network was somewhat established when I joined the team. Lots of coax segmented with Compatible Systems routers to break up the AppleTalk networks feeding the different buildings and business units.

  2. Thanks for stopping by! I didn’t mention the little coax (Thinnet) segment I had for a printer at this company. And I remember the Compatible Systems routers quite well! I did work at a company that had one but I never got to touch it. Arcnet, however, I never did touch.
